Catarina Moura (b. Lisbon) is a Portuguese-Brazilian artist based in London. Between science and fiction, she creates constellations of work that articulate systems of failure, desire and interdependency. Primarily sculptural, her practice transforms broken and abandoned bodies — poetically and materially — to destabilise their prescribed taxonomies. In this process, she traces the intersections of care, material conditions and the spirit.
Moura is currently completing an MFA at Goldsmiths, University of London, supported by two merit-based tuition fee waivers. She holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from UAL: Wimbledon College of Arts (First Class, 2021) and a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design from UAL: Central Saint Martins (2015). In 2019, she was the recipient of the Prunella Clough Prize.
Her work has been shown across Europe, including London, Lisbon, Glasgow, Berlin, and Paris. Recent exhibitions include Daisy Chained (group) at Five Years Gallery, London (2026); Exquisite, Imaginary Cure (group) at Annex Gallery, Glasgow (2025); The Curious Case of Mary Toft (duo) at Wild Trumpets, London (2025); and Solid Liquid Gas at St. Margaret’s House, London (2025). This winter, Catarina Moura will be in residence at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
