i could eat a horse 2025.
colour, sound. 15 minutes.
I Could Eat a Horse is a video performance where the artist consumes fifty portraits of herself, printed on communion paper.
Shot in an unsaturated, single, continuous take, the film watches the artist from the chest up, towel-wrapped, wet skin and hair, chewing. As the performance goes on, her mouth becomes gradually blackened by the images’ ink, and her expression sickened by the ongoing failure of this consumption.
This performance was recorded in Cable Street Studios, London, April 2025, by Conrad Armstrong.
See this work projected large-scale at St. James Hatcham Church, London, February 2026, as part of exhibition Velvet.
